[ 1 ] - Zeon Barracks
Gentlemen, it's now or never.
[ Char's in the middle of a motivational speech. The Zeon Royal Guard has been assembled, and are standing at attention. Char is currently standing behind a desk, the Zeon flag draped in the background, along with the flag of Axis. ]
Ensign Lane may be an Earthnoid, yes. I don't deny this. But she represents something far more important than heritage, gravity or otherwise. She represents something far more dear to us as citizens of Zeon. Something none of us have enough of.
She represents a hope for our future. A willingness to see what so many warped by earth's gravity are willingly blind to. She embodies the very reason we offered a hand of friendship to the White Chalice, when its crew was made up of those who called us their enemy in the One Year War.
[ Char begins pacing behind the desk. ]
She swore an oath to stand by us, to help guide the Earth Sphere towards its destiny. By this oath, she became a spacenoid, not in birth, but in principle. And just as we are willing to give our lives to defend the Colonies, neither will we abandon a comrade in need.
[ He stops, and turns back to the Royal Guard. ]
We will save her. She deserves to see the dawn of a new era of prosperity for Spacenoids along with us. She deserves to stand at our side when we break the shackles the Titans unjustly placed upon the Colonists. No, she deserves to help us break them. Gentlemen, my fellow soldiers, get your rest while you can. The mission begins in twenty-four hours. Dismissed.
[ The Royal Guard salutes, and gives a cry of 'Sieg Zeon.' ]
Sieg Zeon.
[ 2 ] - Hangar
[ Char can be seen next to a docking Zeon Komusai II-class shuttle. It's purpose is relatively simple; a single courier hands a package to Char, before promptly getting back into the shuttle and departing.
And what's in the package? Clothes. Specifically, a new Zeon uniform, this time bearing the stripes of an officer. Anyone who has seen Cynthia Lane in her Zeon garb would recognize it as being in her size. There's also a medal: Anyone who knows their Zeon symbolism would recognize it as the Zeon Bronze Cross, which is given to rescued P.O.W.'s and MIA soldiers who didn't go AWOL.
He's planning on giving her a hero's welcome. ]

I heard your speech back there. [He's only recently gotten out of the infirmary, but his strength of will is palpable.] I'm going into that battle. Trust me when I say that I WILL bring her back, for Kensuke, Haman, and everyone else waiting for her to come home. And when she comes back with Gainer, I have every intention of commandeering the kitchen for the celebration.

I'm not going to leave anyone behind. Especially not her. She's... quite fun to have as a roommate.
no subject
You should know this song and dance by now. Speak of the devil and she appears.
"It's good to hear you both so determined.I'm comforted to hear that our feelings are the subject are mutually strong on the subject."
Haman looked tired, but it did no manage to dim the light of her determination. The feeling between them almost vibrated with it's strength.
"For once I'm glad you're roommates. I will be counting on you both when we get her back. Who knows what kind of state she'll be in. She'll need us all, I'm sure."
There was a sickening thought lingering in the back of her mind at Char's words, but she would tuck that feeling away, for now. Those thought belonged in ones head, not on ones tongue.

Haman, I know you care about her as well. [ He feels that sickening thought, Haman. He's a Newtype with a special connection to you. ] I'm not coming back without her. But... in case the worst happens, I want you to make sure Mineva doesn't follow the mission.
no subject
"Oh don't bow to me Kamille. I'm not royalty." The power in him seem to glow with his determination, Haman could not help but be in awe of it. What power he has...
"Yes, the bespectacled blonde boy." She knew of him, "He's grow quite tall lately." She mused aloud for a moment.
"Kamille, if you did this only for you friends, and not Zeon at all, I would still be proud of you. I expect no less from you." She did not try to dim the shine of her admiration for him.
And then to Char, a careful hand on the back of his elbow.
"Cynthia is-" Haman found she could not say the words she felt. "-dear to me. I want her back, and I have no doubt that you will bring her home. None the less, you can be assured Mineva will be occupied during your sortie. Bring Cynthia back safely and we won't have to worry about the princess." She put her other hand on Kamille's shoulder. "It was once said that a man who fights with his heart can never loose. Bring her back, not for Zeon, But for the fragile thing we call a family."

That one Clanner/guy from the Gurren Brigade walks up and nods to you: his uniform has changed since you last saw him. It is sleeveless now.
It looks tantalizingly cool.
"The Royal Guard will be joining the sortie against the Overdevil, quiaff? Then it shall be battle that shall resound through the ages!"
Matthew clenches his fist in a righteous manner. He frowns suddenly. "Will Trainee Burne be at the front lines, then? She still seems to be an eyas."
no subject
"She won't. Trainees aren't allowed onto the field until they've completed their training. We can't risk casualties needlessly."
Well, more like they won't. Especially in her case.
no subject
"You will have to blood your trainees at some point, though. Do you set them against each other in combat exercises?"
Because that's totally what Clanners do.
no subject
And that new AI that's taken to playing with the simulation systems is brutal.
no subject
no subject
He's just making excuses, of course. The reason why should be obvious in 'Burne's' case.
no subject
No, Matthew still hasn't figured it out.

Because the presence of Zeon, more specifically the Red Comet himself is questionable and suspicious. But he's not stupid enough to just DRAW a gun on a figure head like this...]]
So this ship even allows some of the biggest enemies of the Earth Sphere to redeem themselves?
no subject
There are far bigger enemies than Zeon in the Earth Sphere right now. [ He slowly turns to face the young boy. What is it with kids and Gundams? ] The White Chalice has a lot of enemies. They'll take allies where they can find them, especially when there is a common enemy involved.
no subject
[[That wasn't exactly a line Hiiro wanted to hear. Not something about Char himself, but, so many other forces that turned their guns towards the Chalice. That was one more irritating step between him and his mission. He didn't have all day to shoot through everyone else to get what he needed to get done, but... if that's what he had to do, he'd pull the trigger.]]
no subject
[ That's all that matters as far as he is concerned. So long as a single threat to spacenoids exist, then his fight will never be over. ]
no subject
[[It was theoretical, but, who knows what turn of events would pit every person in the Earth Sphere against one singular target.]]

The Titans aren't as big a problem as you're making them. [[But still a problem none the less.]]

[[Some of them just want to squash the enemy with weapons known as Gundams so there isn't an opposing force to go to war with. Not necessarily squashing their faction, but at least their soldiers and weapons.]]
