[Over in the medical ward, Wendell has his usual bout of coma turning into a violent awakening. This time features a horrible, wet coughing fit that takes a concerning while to settle down. Despite feeling terrible, however, he's determined to leave. As soon as breathing is mostly painless, Wendell pushes himself unsteadily to his feet, ignoring the new but familiar pains. Same old song and dance... and unless someone stops him, Wendell is tired always waking up to the hospital walls.]

I know it's been a while, but I just woke up. Did anyone see where Ayman ran off to?

He strikes me as some kind of fundamentalist. He has an incredible machine at his disposal and doesn't even use it, because bringing someone back to life is "going against the laws of nature" somehow.

As much as I hate him, I do know there are plenty in the world who would agree with him.

Unless he knows something that we don't know. But then he should share it instead of being vague.

It wasn't the ward. Though, I did run out of there pretty quick, so one could think so.

[Wendell starts to gesture towards his chest, but flinches when his ribs complain at the movement.]

[Wendell's forced greeting of a smile fades at Josh's expression. The main empathic signals are the usual jumbled mess of fear, anger, and a bit of confusion. But something... definitely different is whispering behind it:

Just the usual stuff with you. You go through hell whenever those giants show up, and, well it's pretty obvious to anyone with working eyes that you're looking worse than ever.
