[It's All Hallow's Eve, which means it's time for a Blackwell Family Tradition: Staying up all night and watching tons of horror movies! Everyone's invited! Zombies, vampires, serial killers, aliens, giant monsters-the classic lineup of horror films is here in full force.]

The movies based off of The Thing and Who Goes There? made after this? They're fine. But it's just...

... To be honest, what made me love the Carpenter film so much was it sorta spoke to me when I was just growing up in Antarctica. Its a film that really has a place in my heart because I could relate to the setting.

And the prequel...

(Momo walks in to see Laura watching the movie. She is about to join when she gets a devious smile on her face. She transforms into her cat form to sneak up right behind Laura. She waits for an extremely tense moment before screaming right behind Laura...)

BOO!

[Laura jumps pretty impressively, landing curled up and barely perched on her seat, hands over her head. Resnick and Mio would be disappointed.]

(Momo transforms back and brings her hand to her mouth as she tries, and fails, to not laugh at Laura's jump.)

Hehe. Sorry Laura. I couldn't resist. It was just too perfect.

[Lily was watching this movie as well, but for some reason she's not there naymore. There is a pair of metal antennas/ears sticking from behind the couch though. How mysterious.]

At least it's not the first movie... the one where the killer snuck up from behind the couch while they were distracted by the TV!

[Whoops. Laura signals apologetically to the others on the couch and turns around, kneeling to peer down at Lily over the back.]

[She's got that look on her face - the "sorry, I was just teasing you" look. Lily knows it well by now.]

It's just that supernatural, irrational things are more, um, unnerving.

It's fun to have a bit of a scare, though, isn't it?

You have got to be kidding me.

(What movie was on? Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah. Who is now on the screen? Emmy Kano. Mind. Blown.)

What if one of the random people we pick up is a murder? They could be totally crazy and nobody would find out...until it's too late.

The shy, quiet Doctor Zero is calmly watching, carefully munching some of the snack foods. She peers owlishly at the fruits of 22nd century horror holovision and tries to figure out when the scary part's supposed to start. The movie's almost two thirds finished.
