[After the harrowing events of

Thinking out loud here.

That was my second real deployment with Freya. It... could have gone better.

The Gundam's definitely got some design flaws. Once I lost my shield, there was barely anything I could do. Maybe if I had another beam rifle I could carry around... or if the shield had some sort of barrier...

Heck, I'm an engineer, sort of. I could probably make her more dependable if I put my mind to it.

...Once the repairs are done, at least.

Did I hear someone say "Gundam", "design" and "engineer"?

[Like a genie from the lamp, Lowe is here to make your wishes come true!

Actually, he just wants to tinker with Gundams.]

Vague ideas and dreams is what we engineers turn into reality!

Anyway, you were talking something 'bout beam rifles? There should be spares aboard. Worst case scenario, we'll commandeer the GINN's ion cannon.

I want to take a look at your unit's power grid. Do you know anything about it?

[identity profile] space-mcgyver.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I see where you're going... it's tough to rely on just one thing for everything.

Okay, time for solutions! I'm sure the Gundams mk II won't mind if we borrow one of their beam rifles for a backup weapon. As for the shield... I bet I can reroute the power system, so its weapons won't give up all at once when it gets severely damaged. Even when it's beaten up, something should still be working!

And perhaps a grappling cable or something along these lines. So if you lose it, you can retrieve it quickly.

I had that idea when I saw those Britannian KMFs. But they're kinda small so we need to scale up!

You can always count on Lowe Gear! Something like this won't be a problem.

[identity profile] azure-savior.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds like you already have a good idea of what needs improving. That's a good sign.

You already did by saying we're with Celestial Being

[identity profile] azure-savior.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
That's commendable... so long as you don't beat yourself up over it. Otherwise you'll be too preoccupied with your failures to have any successes.

Whatever the case, keep your chin up. You still did good out there.

Once is usually all it takes

[identity profile] azure-savior.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
But there weren't. And if there would have been, I'm pretty sure Cheng could have dealt with them with those powers of his if he wanted to.

And if there were? Well I would have helped you go after another one. We did a fairly good job together out there, after all.

[identity profile] azure-savior.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Keep on the path you're on right now and you'll be set. As for everyone else? Well between their own can-do attitudes and the instructors we have here like Calvina, we'll be set.

[identity profile] notimemachine.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it might be a problem if your primary form of offense is also the part that is supposed to take the most damage.

[identity profile] zetahatsudo.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I might have a solution, Nadia. Why not use the spare mk-II's weapons? As things stand right now, Major Sangar has no intention of using them, so they're up for grabs.

[identity profile] zetahatsudo.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Kamille nods] Lowe certainly seems on top of things, eh? But yeah, you're welcome to it.

Yeah, I can see why putting most of your weapons into something you put between yourself and enemy attacks could be a design flaw.

I suggest seeing if any of the dozen other Gundams we have on board aren't using some of their equipment, and snatching it.
