Clearing out cobwebs for White Base's Angel

1.[Throughout the day, someone's out taking the Cosmograsper and I-Savior for a spin or two. And by "spin or two", I mean crazy high-G maneuvers to avoid imaginary enemies. No shooting, just dodging like crazy. Several times the Cosmograsper will actually go into a stall, then roll into a turn, allowing it to do a 360 turn in very tight spaces.]

2. [Later on, Sayla's taking a break. She looks kind of...green.]

Ugh...

[Kincaid passes her a canteen.]

Got a little carried away out there?

[identity profile] bottleofgundam.livejournal.com 2012-09-22 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not like riding a bike, is it?

For what it's worth you looked pretty good out there.

Need a real op-for, ma'am? [And here's Chrono flying right next to her.] It might be better practice.
coolblueiceman: (Gotta hurry...!)

[Not really, he's pushing it and losing ground fast.] Right then, let's go. Durandal!

Yes, Boss. Snipe Shot, Training Mode. [And an icy-blue beam fires toward the Cosmograsper! Luckily it'll bounce off if it connects.]

[Which would be fine if this weren't Chrono, with his shots that can make turns at any angle in moments. It's coming back, Sayla. Fast, too.]
coolblueiceman: (Here are my instructions!)

Your senses are very good. I'm impressed. [With a flick of the wrist, the shot turns on itself again, now headed for a wing, though he waited long enough for the shot not to be totally impossible to dodge.]

But it we're going to make something out of this, I'll have to push that machine a little harder, and you too.

Durandal. Let's pick up the pace.
Yes, Boss.

[And the shot increases in speed; it's not as significant a boost as Sayla's is, but then the projectile's still at least as fast as she is, magic being able to cheat and all. It's on course for the cockpit if Sayla doesn't get the Cosmograsper out of the way. Interestingly, Chrono's having to dump a lot of focus into this...]

Nice to see you haven't lost your edge out there.

[ ... though she looks like she's about to lose whatever she had for dinner. ]

Can't a brother offer his little sister a compliment?

Are you Senior Luger's girlfriend?

Oh, from hearsay. I heard senior luger respects you. Senior Luger is a headstrong and independent person, you know? He doesn't listen to that many people.

[Gregory, however, is in the dark about Sayla's ill condition as he approaches her, looking a little antsy.]

Doctor... about all the tests I-

[Oh dear. Yeah, she doesn't look good.]

... I came at a bad time, didn't I?

[identity profile] reach-for-self.livejournal.com 2012-09-27 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Take all the time you need. I can wait.

[identity profile] reach-for-self.livejournal.com 2012-09-29 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
My... test results.

Was there anything definitive you found in it? Human or otherwise?

Right now I... would definitely appreciate confirmations one way or the other.

[identity profile] reach-for-self.livejournal.com 2012-09-30 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[He pauses, looking down at the ground wearily.]

I was... afraid of that. If only because it feels like other people know who I am better than I do.

[identity profile] reach-for-self.livejournal.com 2012-10-01 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
[He smiles weakly.]

I'd appreciate that.

[And with that he sits down, looking a bit antsy.]

I suppose really, what's causing my biggest problems with this is just my initial impressions of Percolatii.

Do you... mind if I go into detail?

[identity profile] reach-for-self.livejournal.com 2012-10-01 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
[A nod.]

... I lost my whole family to Percolatii when I was a child. They were replicated and killed, and while I tried to hide in the house they searched for me... as my parents. I knew the truth, and they weren't going to just let me live.

I know some Percolatii just "pick up" where the person they copied stopped living. Some times they don't necessarily even kill them; MarKus's parents were replicated but they died from an unrelated incident.

But just... all that talk that "it doesn't matter who you were" doesn't stick to me as well as it should... because I know how horrible a Percolatis can be, and how their imitation can be skin-deep.

[identity profile] reach-for-self.livejournal.com 2012-10-01 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Distantly related, not related at all... or a defector from decadence who... really doesn't deserve that title whatsoever.

[He sighs heavily.]

That one Percolatis out there talked like he knew me. And if he was... then I was apparently a high-ranking member of TECZ. And TECZ, contrary to what I've thought for all my life, seems to really just be a Percolatis front.

[identity profile] reach-for-self.livejournal.com 2012-10-01 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
... I suppose... that might be the best option for a while.

Maybe watch some of MarKus's Kamen Rider documentaries again, or see how Madeleine's doing now.

[identity profile] reach-for-self.livejournal.com 2012-10-01 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Wouldn't put it past her.

From what I heard, Mad was a bit troublesome when she first came onboard, after all.

[identity profile] reach-for-self.livejournal.com 2012-10-01 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
It's for the best though. Madeleine's goes through enough as it is... her gender issues are fortunately not one of them now.
