Post-Mission Thinking

[Nanoha's in the arbortorium, having been treated for her shoulder. She was still in a sling but she was able to get out and walk around despite her exhaustion. For the time being, she was sitting underneath a large tree, humming to herself.]

[Given that she was hungry, she went to get a meal. Currently, she was trying to cook by herself, not wanting to disturb anyone. You can see her trying to move a large pan with her good hand.]

[It's around this time the next day that a care package arrives for Nanoha, and she's eager to tear into it. In there is cookies, clothing, clean undies (blush) and a couple of pairs of glasses. From it is a letter from Miyuki-nee who says to keep her head up. JUST what she needed. Thank you Lindy for telling her parents she needed a pick me up. You can see her wandering around in a cute new outfit despite her sling, and a pair of glasses on her nose.]

Ah, I'm fine Chrono, I'm just tired. I was released earlier than everyone else after getting hurt. Are you doing okay?

[There's a brief silence over the connection, before there's a mental sigh.]

~I'm all right. I've got some nasty burns, and I'm almost entirely out of magic, but I'll live. It's a small price to pay for being to save you, and taking out that monstrosity. I saw the initial reports; good work out there.~

~You did fine, Nanoha. Honestly, we were a little out of our depth on that one. Midchildan magic is designed for fighting smaller targets - people, the occasional vehicle. It works well enough on mecha. Something like that, though? Looking back, I'm surprised we did much at all.~

[Chrono laughs faintly.] ~You know, after something like this, I'm wondering if the Tome of the Night Sky is going to be a problem at all. We fought a god and won. The Wolkenritter and the Tome will be a brisk warmup by comparison, I think. I hope.~

I'm glad I know Starlight Breaker. I don't think I could have done as much damage as possible. I'm sorry you got hurt saving me though.

I know. Though, after this I'm sending a call to mom and dad, to talk to them. I won't lie, this has me shook up a lot.

~Frankly? Starlight Breaker scares me. A collection-type siege bombardment spell... that hits every point in the book for how to break through just about anything. I still have nightmares about the first time I saw it, sometimes. So much pink... ugh.

That's not a bad idea. You should get in touch with your parents and friends before we do this... make your peace. There's always the chance that things could go wrong. I'm less worried than I would normally be, considering what we just went through, but... just in case.~

[Nanoha wouldn't admit it, but she remembered that moment with fond memories. Other people on the other hand might be traumatized by getting hit by it.]

Yeah... just in case. I'll let you know how it went. I'm going over to the Asura in order to make the call then.
