[It had been a long month since the final fight with Adventus. In the span of a good two weeks, Hana had been punched in the gut, slapped in the face twice, kneed in the gut, threatened with a knife, had to climb a mountain and ended up helping fight off a small militia that left her bandaged and sore - and netted her an interesting flower-like scar on her back.

Now, she was tired of sitting around and waiting. On the deck of the White Chalice, the Desu Tsubomi, repaired but not been touched since Hana's return, stood on the catapult, ready to be launched. She wanted to see how well she could handle things now, Seiren's orders be damned. She knows that once she's back on her feet, Seiren was going to put her through some training. And she resolved to put her foot down and take back control.

For now, she wanted to fly once more.]

Nanohana Himesaki! Desu Tsubomi! GOOOOOOOOO!

[And with that, the Desu Machine rocketed off into the sky, the Desu Wing appearing once more, letting Hana fly through the sky effortlessly.]

Lucky for you I am in a good mood. Now as for your punishment, three days of my 'special' training as promised for disobeying my orders. You'll be working at that along side Myoudouin when I get everything set up. Now get down here.

Th-this is nuts! Everything was fine until you showed up! Now it's "special training" and reports and--

[She lets out a sigh, trying to calm down.]

...have you ever, just once, wanted to do something that wasn't "by the book" and rigid? Just not be... how you are? Just because we're pilots doesn't mean we have to act like we're part of the Federation or something like that!

Before you and Sora came in, that's how Eri and I were - we didn't care. We had our mission and we went out to pull it off. And now... it just feels wrong.

Myoudouin failed to report that she was involved with the death of a member of the Chalice.

(Seiren narrows her eyes at Hana. She was not happy with Hana's tone.)

Oh? So you play vigilante and do whatever you like, is that what you want Himesaki? We are pilots and as such we command a lot of power. With power comes restrictions. The more power you have, the more restrictions you have.

[Oh, the things she missed out on.]

No, I'm not saying I want to be some vigilante, but at the same time, I don't like how things are. I thought we were supposed to be a team - do you not have any faith in that?

It was the death of Alexei Soras. He died from some kind of psychic overload caused by Kamille. We were lucky that the League had technology to save him or he'd still be dead.

We may be a team but I am your superior officer. As such I have a responsibility to make sure you are following the rules.

[She hates this, she really does. She says they're a team, but it feels less than that.]

Good. I hope you understand that disobeying my orders like this is unacceptable. Once we are finished with 'special' training, I will give you back your rights to pilot if you can show me you deserve them. Do I make myself clear?

(Seiren closes her eyes and turns slightly.)

...It did. I was able to distract myself from the sadness...If only for a bit. It also was nice to see Laura happy that everything was growing still upon her return.

...I understand.

And... I'm glad it helped, no matter how little.

(Seiren sighs a little.)

You know, I was going to give you some training now but I can't now. You need to save your energy for the 'special' training. What made you directly disobey my orders anyway?

I needed to get out, to make sure I could function again. I was cooped up in the ship for a good while and I wasn't sure how well I would handle things, especially after how beat up I was.

You know, you don't have to keep giving out these punishments, Miss Kurokawa. I know it's to keep us in line, but... we're not soldiers. We don't have to be - we don't NEED to be.

Maybe Himesaki. But I'd like to remind you that the punishment of not being allowed to pilot a machine without my permission was for attacking and trying to strangle me. As I said then, I went easy on you as I could have had you locked up for quite some time. However, I added a consequence if you by some chance disobeyed this, three days of my 'special' training. You disobeyed, so I am giving you your promised punishment. That is all there is to it.

And if you remember, Miss Kurokawa, I was in a very emotional state back then. But, then again, you react in disproportionate manner - break any rule, get "special" training.

Can you find it in your heart to just... not do this? Give me your training as punishment, push me as hard as you can without it being your "special" training.

(Seiren's eyes narrow.)

You should be grateful that I went easy on you for attacking me. In some organizations, your action during your emotional state could have gotten you executed.

So now you are trying to get out of the punishment that you knew I was going to give you for this? That won't work. The fact that you are trying to do so is insulting. You will receive the punishment for your actions that I promised back then. You have no one to blame but yourself.

[Hana closes her eyes for a moment. This is getting ridiculous. She's finally going to do something she said she was going to do...

And she starts it by stomping her foot down.]

STOP IT! That's ENOUGH, Seiren! I've HAD IT!

Ever since you've gotten here, you've flaunted your title as Ace to pretty much bully us around! You act like you're some general and we're just a bunch of soldiers! If I wanted to be treated like that, I'd join the Federation!

You're nothing but a bully, Seiren! A bully that intimidates everyone because of one bad incident. A bully that justifies her actions because of her title!

No. Seiren, it stops here. I played along long enough and now I'm tired of it.

You were brought here to rescue Eri, right? She's safe now. For all intents and purposes, your mission ended when Dr. RGNK and Jeremy Gatsby were killed. You've overstayed your welcome in that regard.

You're now dealing with the mission handed down to the SoulClaimers - to protect the Rainbow Jewel on-board the White Chalice. You want to help with that, fine. I'll welcome you with open arms.

But, I will not allow you to bully us around anymore. You want to work with me, it's time to open up! No more of this superior attitude.

(Seiren looks angry for a second before just sighing.)

You know what Himesaki? I don't care enough to deal with this and do you know why? I have my reasons. But even if I explained them, you are likely to get angry at me because you don't understand or you would not really listen to what I am saying like usual. We're done here...I'll get you once I am ready to run you through 'special' training as promised.

(Seiren turns and moves to leave.)
