A large bonfire had been built in the middle of a forest, giving the people who came along for the ride time to reflect as Dita poured a handful of dust into their hands.

"The natives who taught me this said that sending your wishes and worries into the fire, revived them as well wishes for others. Focus your thoughts, your desires and your worries, and cast them into the flame."

Mountainside. You've been climbing for the better part of the day, and while the end seemed in sight, there was also a lot of whispers and questions for you. People in the shape of your own friends and family were asking you questions. "What is your goal? What do you feel is right?" You are hearing the whisper of the spirits on this scared mountain as Dita waited for you at the top of it.

Xing Village. A small village known for its ore deposits on the old China/Gucun border. Now under attack. Warlords have battled over this area, and now with Adventus broken up, it was also ready to be taken by a larger, stronger power. Currently, half the village was in flames as people shot it up with large generic Adventus mooks stolen from their resources. At the forefront was a large portly man of Chinese descent who was barking orders.

"Our mission is to defeat them. You'll find your final answers in this sacred village. Everyone ready?" inquired Dita.

Returning to the Chalice after the battle to deal with the aftermath of the violence. And yet, there's a happy aura from everyone, like they had found answers they sought. It was to say the least, welcoming. They're also at IS Academy now as well.

Eheh. I'll keep that in mind. ...I probably still won't do much of it, though. I'm not sure how.

Besides, I suspect these girls are getting enough of it today, given some of the other people from the Chalice who're probably running around. A few of the crew, ah... lack tact.

I would imagine so. There's a lot of rude people among our group, but even more still are the people who have the misfortune to be chased around at times.

[She can feel Ichitaka's agony a mile away.]

Chased around? I didn't think that was a common complaint.

[Well - Laura thinks about it. Alessandra has her admirers, of course. And maybe some others on board have fans... idols, mascots, celebrities, it wouldn't be surprising.]

Are you thinking of someone in particular?

Yes, Ichitaka. I can feel him from a mile away. Something to do about... [She pauses and concentrates for a moment.] Damn you Vlaska. I think the cat helped the fangirls.

You can tell something like that? Really? That's... that's a little scary.

[Scary enough that Vlaska betraying Ichitaka to fangirls passes without comment.]

It's harder to sense it without a really strong emotional pulse to it. Heightened emotions really make a good point for me to anchor on. They, um, become beacons I suppose.

So I'm not, ummm, carrying around a big neon sign over my head telling you all the things I don't necessarily want to talk about?

Not at the moment. [Being totally honest. She doesn't notice the obvious signs of a crush anyhow.]

[Which isn't even the largest weight on Laura's mind at the moment.]

Good. I mean -

It's not like I'm trying to keep anything from you. Or that you wouldn't... probably be the first person I'd go to, to talk about something that's bothering me. I just wouldn't like to feel too... exposed.

It must be hard, though. I mean, talking about burdens and all that, okay. But if you sense it every time there's some emotional flare-up nearby... how do you even sleep?

It's not really anything hard on my senses though. My ability to completely sense emotional states determines on proximity as well as how strong the emotional response is. I can feel Ichitaka like this because he's not really trying hard to hide it or anything, but because emotional states carry, from one person to another.

I can sleep soundly though, I guess for whatever reason, I can let it all sort itself out till the next morning.

Well that's a relief at least. I wouldn't like to think of you being driven up the wall by every outburst we have on board.

Er... I guess I focused on myself a bit, there... should we be looking for Ichitaka? Does he need help?

If I was. I'd probably be losing a lot of sleep.

Hmm, seems like it's sorting itself out but we could go try and find him to intervene?

I am kind of curious why Ichitaka would be getting mobbed by... you said "fangirls"?
