Zero-G

Piloting in Zero-G is nothing like piloting on the ground. My assisstant [He gestures to Nameless NPC#82] has assembled some training material and useful information on the subject. If you have never fought in space, I would suggest you take this time to review it and get some training in.

Guess this would be a good time to test my unit's performance in space.

[identity profile] phantompilot.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
Who would be dumb enough to do that in the middle of a fight anyways?

[identity profile] phantompilot.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Working with them must've been pretty interesting.

[identity profile] phantompilot.livejournal.com 2011-08-03 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
...Heh. Sounds like a few people I know back at 'home'.

[Even though he's not welcome there anymore.]

I've been wanting to speak to someone about space combat, Commander Jin.

[identity profile] aceshighsword.livejournal.com 2011-08-03 11:37 am (UTC)(link)
We do. I've been wanting to see to what extent our magic can protect us from the lack of gravity, as well as the lack of heat or air.

But, as for more conventional solutions, I'm at a loss for what would be possible. Standard space suits certainly won't work with the Strikers.

[identity profile] aceshighsword.livejournal.com 2011-08-03 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the propellers themselves are powered by magic so that may change that, but wouldn't cutting a space suit in any way compromise its pressure?

[[You're probably as confound as she is.]]

[identity profile] aceshighsword.livejournal.com 2011-08-03 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
That may work. I'll have it looked into.

Though there could be a magical solution as well. Thank you for the suggestion, Commander.

Commander. Do you have any personal advice regarding space combat?

[Salutes, albeit hesitantly. Less that it was he was intimidated by the man but more by being "out there"]

[identity profile] vjockey.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
If almost all of it was in a gravity well...then it would benefit me to ask of what you know sir.

You would know the...change of situation that those of us who have only fought on Earth would experience.

[identity profile] vjockey.livejournal.com 2011-08-03 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Salutes with a nod, though honestly he was nervous as hell about it]

Yes Sir.

[identity profile] guardian-lynx.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
If anyone needs specific training, direct them to me. I'm actually more accustomed to space than gravity, given where I served.

[identity profile] guardian-lynx.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You do strike me as more of a land warfare person.

I suppose now that I have something I can pilot I can demonstrate properly...guess I'll organize another class.

Hmm. I should probably take a look at those at some point.
[Enthusiasm at a level of roughly 0.3 Shinjis.]

It can't be too difficult. I've been doing very good so far.

I know it's different. The combat is completely three-dimensional, there's no up and down, once you start you keep going one direction until you throw something to propel yourself another one, stuff like that. Can't be too hard to get used to if you know how space works.

Guess so. Getting any actual experience outside of a real fight, though? Problematic. At least for someone in my situation.

[identity profile] l-has-a-keikaku.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I've had some experience with underwater combat, but nothing in space.

Though I can't really say how effective the TSX will be.

[identity profile] l-has-a-keikaku.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I intend to. I can't promise too much, but the Titan-model at least has some missiles and machineguns. If push comes to shove, I'll just stick to the Chalice and be a glorified gun turret.
