Second Stage

[Rock has been mostly helping with post mission repairs, but today he was one of the things needing repair so he couldn't really do much but hold still while Doctor Light fixed the damage he received during the fight with Odin. Fortunately it's not as bad as it could've been, and once that's done though, he gets to help fix Rush, which is what he's doing right now.]

That was tough... Maybe I should sortie more often. We haven't found any more of the power crystals in a while, but if I can help the others by fighting with them I should. Right, Rush?

Yo. [Tsukasa's leaning against the door.] You did good out there.

[He looks up and smiles at Tsukasa] Thanks. I'm glad we could help. [Rock is kneeling over Rush, who's currently inactive as Rock finishes up repairs. He was kinda glad the fight had ended when it had, it looked like the the Rush Jet's over engine would've given out if it'd dragged on any longer. As it is, he doesn't have to replace much.]

[Rock looked down at Rush again.] He'll be fine. The power supply to the Rush Jet's anti-gravity matrix took a hit, but it's nothing I can't fix. I'm almost done with that now in fact.

[Rock laughed.] Yeah, he sure is! That's what Dr. Light built him for. [whether he means to help him in battle or to be his friend doesn't matter since both apply. Still smiling, Rock gets back to work finishing up repairs.]

[Oh Tsukasa had people too, but he still didn't know who he was at any rate.]

Thanks. [Annd there we go. Now he can turn Rush back on.]

There! [He presses the switch to power his robodog back up. As Rush sits back up from being powered down he turns to look at Rock with his tongue hanging out.]

Feeling better now boy?

[Rush barks affirmative and licks Rock's face, making Rock laugh.] Haha! That's good. You did great out there Rush!

[He rubs Rush behind the ears.]

[Seeing this brings a smile to Tsukasa's face as he watches the pair play a little.]

Good to see him back up and running.

Oh no! Is your dog hurt badly? Do you need help fixing him?

No it's alright. I'm almost done fixing him.

Oh, okay. It's good that's he's a robot! Humans and other biological lifeforms are very fragile, they'd have to spend a lot of time healing after getting hurt that much.

Yeah, that's definitely one of a the good things about being a robot. [He might envy some things humans had, but how fragile they were wasn't one of them. It was much easier to fix a robot than a human.]

I'm Lily Rain, an agent of Angel Force from Cosmic Ark! Nice to meet you. You're a robot as well, aren't you?

Yep. [He'd thought that she might be another robot.] It's nice to meet you too, Lily. I don't think I've heard of Angel Force or Cosmic Ark before.

Cosmic Ark is a planet located in a galaxy far away from here, where all the local lifeforms are robotic! The only biological ones are rare visitors from other worlds. As for Angel Force, it's a peacekeeping organization that guards Cosmic Ark and other nearby planets from the forces of Chaos and other enemies!

[He pauses his work to look up at her and smiles.] Yep! This is my dog, Rush.

I'm Laura, by the way. I don't think we've met before...

Do you need any help repairing him? [Laura naively assumes that if Rock's undertaken the job by himself, then it's probably not too far beyond her either.]

[I dunno some of the tools he's got in his kit look a little complex.] It's alright. It's mostly just the power coupling to Rush Jet's anti-gravity matrix, but I'm almost done fixing that.

That's... more than I'd expect in a robot dog. He can fly?

[Rock nods.] He can transform into a hover board for air combat. He's also got a bike mode and a submarine mode, though I haven't had much use for those yet.

Just to let you know, I'm a robot too.

[He sometimes forgets that most people who don't know what he is see a little kid when they look at him.]

Where are you from? You look... I assume you're not from Cosmic Ark.

No I'm from Earth. I was built by Dr. Light. He's one of the foremost experts in robotics and artificial intelligence.

Wow. I didn't realize we had technology that advanced on Earth at all.

So how did you - er, what brings you to the Chalice?

Dr. Light decided to move his lab here. He thought it'd be safer, what with Advantus and everything, and we both wanted to help.

It seems like a few people have made the same call. I guess it's reassuring to know that various geniuses and important figures think the Chalice is the safest place around...
