[Action]

Van is in the hangar rubbing his left arm, which has a perfectly circular bruise reaching around it, while staring at Escaflowne, which is missing it's left arm. He looks thoughtful and kind of annoyed.

[Not filtered to Laura, but only because he doesn't know how, or even really who she is.]

Laura, I wanted to thank you for doing...whatever it was you did to Escaflowne's arm. It was obviously taxing on you, but the mechanics are saying it should be a very easy repair job.

So, you have my thanks.

...That's it, I guess.

Is your arm okay, King Fanelia? It looks like someone cut it off and then reattached very roughly...

Hmm... It's a bit similar to the damage suffered by Escaflowne, too! How mysterious.

What a rough machine... Would you like some extra pillows for piloting it? I'm sure that'll make it much more comfortable...
mecha_eihwaz: (listen to my song!)

[personal profile] mecha_eihwaz 2011-12-23 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
If you say so! I guess being a king means you have to focus on much larger things than that, huh?
mecha_eihwaz: (why so serious)

[personal profile] mecha_eihwaz 2011-12-23 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... It's true that Fanelia is in ruins now, but it can rebuild, right? And the people will come back... I hope...
mecha_eihwaz: (sad)

[personal profile] mecha_eihwaz 2011-12-23 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, r, right. Sorry, I just wanted to cheer you up... I'm not really that good at this, huh...?

Who'd make a cut this clean? Talk about a Christmas present... from hell.

[identity profile] space-mcgyver.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
There's nothing Lowe Gear can't fix. Just a sec!

[Lowe examines the arm, and stares into the hole where it should connect.]

Hey, it's like all the parts are already there. In fact... they are! It looks less cut off and more disattached on a factory line - half an hour of work tops and it should be in working condition.

Okay, now I'm REALLY curious what happened.

[identity profile] space-mcgyver.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Girl? Who are you talking about?

[This better not be Maya again...]

[identity profile] space-mcgyver.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
I know that name!

Now that you mention it, I knew she's a Shifter but not what she can do. So she can fix stuff too? Well, ain't that useful!

[identity profile] space-mcgyver.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
They can... how to explain it... do you know Kamen Riders? It's something like that - they summon suits of armor that makes them really fast and strong, and apparently gives 'em even more special abilities too.

There's one other Shifter but she's the loner type. We don't speak a lot, but it's okay.

[identity profile] space-mcgyver.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Just roll with it, it's saner for you.

[identity profile] space-mcgyver.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Must be hard, huh... to have your place ripped off from something like a fantasy novel, straight into, well, now.

I'm just glad it worked. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, I've never tried it on something that size before.

[Laura notices the bruise.] Is that... did your machine hurt you, too, when it was damaged?
emorangerpink: (smiling)

[personal profile] emorangerpink 2011-12-22 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
That's good, then. But I help out in the hangar, so in a way I was making my job easier, too. How did you end up with such an unusual machine?

[She lets the bruise drop - that train of thought brought back the memory of Haruka's screams over the comm...]

I'd say you put it to good use, then. That city certainly had a great need.

[identity profile] azure-savior.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, he notices that bruise and it's got his attention.]

How'd you get that?

[identity profile] azure-savior.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
... That's right. Your machine doesn't exactly have proper insulation, does it?

You know, you might want to see about getting something to help with that. If we head off to space any time soon you'd be pretty thoroughly screwed because of that.

[identity profile] azure-savior.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
That's exactly what I was thinking.

[identity profile] hammersteintime.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Golly, you've got a force feed back system too, huh?

[identity profile] hammersteintime.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That bruise! I've totally got a similar one on my wrist! In the shape of a circle! [He pulled his sleeve up. Indeed, there was a discolored dark bluish ring around his right wrist] See~?

[identity profile] hammersteintime.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
OH well that's just what we call it in Hildebrand. Uhhh, I think the technical term was uhh... Oh that's right! I got it!

We called the Marrionette System 'cause you're all tied up like a puppet with strings!

'Force feedback' is just a fancy schmancy jargon. It basically means that when something hits the arm of your robot, your own arm gets pushed too.
