Adventus Locked
(!)
[[The bespectacled Doctor has two discs in hand, and has been wandering a bit, looking for a certain historian. He finds him, eventually, and offers the discs, slightly to the right.]]
I've got what you asked for. The audio's perfect, but it's not retail-ready, obviously. The footage, Low-Key got them from the Advent that didn't actually participate in the fight. The whole battle is there, for your enjoyment, sir. [[But his tone and expression are far less cocky than their meeting the other day.]]

[[After several hours, Low-Key and RGNK exit the cockpit of the Skidbladnir. Low-Key heads off elsewhere while the Dr. pulls out a metal case and withdraws a particular hand-rolled cigarette. Lighting up and taking a drag, he looks up at the ceiling, and rests against the rails of the catwalk leading towards the massive 80 meter machine.]]
I can't find a good beat here anymore. It's so... uninspiring.

This world is uninspiring.
Shift-2 LAWL
Make some footsteps next time, man. [[He takes another drag.]]
It's not that it's uninspiring... I just don't get to see it the way I used to anymore.
How do I put it... It's too much of the same.

[[He takes a drag and offers it over... regardless of who it is he's talking to, it's just polite to offer.]] But you've seen a lot... I guess nothing's new for you.

The Second Impact was. As is the world since then. New, but bleak and empty. And unfortunately, the things that didn't change seem to be for the worse. Many of the good things have fallen to the wayside.
[RGNK would pick up the tones in his voice more than anyone else, the man is downhearted. Even still, the man is way less animated sounding than he had been previously. Strange considering the reason he joined Adventus to begin with.]

Yeah. I was still a kid then though. I guess I didn't miss a whole lot except that whole internet and file sharing thing I heard about. It was so much easier to get new music and inspiration around.
Hey, at least I'm not letting music be forgotten. [[He skips a beat.]] Are you taking something different, or... cutting it out?
no subject
Of course, it has unfortunately consequences, but I do not have many options.
no subject
[[He does raise that cigarette a bit.]] Any case...
You know what man... I'm gonna be real with you. I had fun.

But my concerts of late, sure, I've got new material, but... I'm not excited to do it anymore. It's not the same. That whole lack of an inspirational world.
That last concert... it was just a thrill I haven't felt in a while. I don't know if you can even remember what that feels like man.
no subject
You shouldn't be here. You have no good reason to be here, it's not you.

[[A drag.]] I'm using them as much as I know they're using me. I'm not just some vinyl-jockey man. I think! ... [[He pauses...]] Contrary to present evidence...
But all the same... look at it this way. The world is, in a word, shit. Or Chaos, preferably the latter. These guys give me the stage of the whole damn Earth Sphere to spread "their word". I spread it, sure, but, at the same time I bring entertainment with me. Joy and happiness and the like. Even if it's just two hours, even if I make them feel it, it's a feeling they're remember; that this world isn't just chaos and despair.
Besides, I'm already waist deep in it.

Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't get back into the business... but people wouldn't experience it the same, not with my shell. They'd just think I was faking everything.
[He laughs, though it sounds forced.] Which of course is true, but not in the way they are thinking.
no subject
Here's an easy one! Stop talking, add a drum roll... [[He pounds on the railing then... once it's done echoing.]] And you're gone! [[He grins.]]

One of these days we'll both find that inspiration we're looking for. Preferably before this world comes to an end...
no subject
We do however, have more important things to consider at the moment.
Yolanda will not be successful. She is too assured of herself, and if the White Chalice has proven anything, it is resourcefulness and an ability to pull itself out of nearly any situation.
Outside of this, our efforts there have distracted us from potentially more important things. The Titans, Britannia, large portions of the Americas which for the moment remain outside our sphere of influence.
no subject
Yeah, it probably has. They're the new kids on the block, and they came out of nowhere. Fresh new talent. Not like those stuffy old-schoolers at Brittania.
I haven't tried to mix anything big enough to get through to a whole country. Back to that lack of inspiration again...

As for her mental health, she is quite the character isn't she?
no subject
I think she showed up... But... yeah, if you don't want to say she's freaking nuts, she's a character.
no subject
The girl I dropped is well... a fugitive in Neo America for one. But that is neither here nor there. She is no more insane than any other child I have met over the years.
no subject
Anyway man... Yolanda. [[He shakes his head.]] Let's just try not to laugh when she comes back defeated.

Thank you for your cooperation, Ragnarok. I'll see to it that, for good or bad, the battle at Casablanca will not be forgotten by normal men.
no subject
I want you to know, personally... Everybody that showed up to my concert was not only protected, but... knew full well what they were getting into.

no subject
But beyond that, everything would be my fault for putting my fans in danger. Fortunately there are only forty nine injuries I have to pay for. [[But reports say fifty were injured.]]
no subject
Tell me, Ragnarok... why exactly are you a part of this organization? My own motivations are only that of ensuring posterity knows of this group's exploits, for richer or poorer, and Lucas's reasons may be extremely personal.
As for Yolanda, well both you and I have both seen the way she carries herself and speaks about Adventus's ultimate goal.
But what of you, Ragnarok? Is your affiliation just a means to an end, a way to get more sales?
no subject
So Lucas doesn't talk about me then? Well... I'll tell you. [[He exhales.]] Because this world sucks. Not in a sense that I'm depressed or anything, but, well, just look around.
As best as I could, I've been using my... ability so to speak, to bring even a few hours happiness to people. Sure, I used that to get ahead, but, the more fame you have, the bigger your audience.
Adventus, knowing what I can do, wanted me to help them. They gave me the whole world as a stage. I can, and will, take advantage of that, and give people even a couple hours of life without worry or despair, even if I have to spread their word at the same time.
I couldn't care less about fame or sales at this point. I'm lucky enough I don't have to see all the bad in this world. I can just drown it out with the sounds of good stuff. [[After another drag, he offers the cigarette to Jeremy]]

His body is a temple, one of the twelve guarding the Pope's palace in the event evil attempts to invade Sanctuary and endanger Athena]Ah, but there are other, equally viable and more ethical ways of accomplishing that, Ragnarok. Your intent may be noble, but even ends such as happiness and relief cannot justify the means.
This is not the first era in which humanity's lost its glimmer, and nor shall it be the last. True, nothing that did not exist at the moment of the Universe's creation is but temporary, even life on this planet, but history is a marvelous yardstick to gauge the course of current affairs by.
Eras like the Dark Ages still gave birth to tremendous men, like Charlamagne, men who brought stability and hope to the millions that lived!
Ragnarok, before you can strengthen the resolves of others, find your own strength and hope for the future! Accompany me on one of my renovation campaigns... see relics of the past restored to their full glory!
What you can instill in others for mere hours, perhaps I can give to you for a lifetime!
no subject
I'm going to pretend that you're just idly forgetting that... [[He takes a drag.]]
I'll go with you and all, but, just... keep in mind that a lot of your sight seeing is going to be lost on me man. I only see shapes really. [[He chuckles a bit.]]
But you're pretty loud, so, I'm sure I'll see them pretty well! I'm sure your crew could use a little entertainment while working, too.
And it'll get me the hell out of here. I'm bored... Uninspired.
no subject
... Perhaps a visit to Spain is in order. With the proper negotiations, I may be able to convince Britannia to permit me to renovate a particular museum, one that was the home of one of the great Worlds' Fairs of the 20th century!
no subject
Works for me man. I'm not particular where we go, as long as it's not here. Maybe gettin out and seeing some of this stuff. Well, hearing it. You know what I mean.
And if you can't convince them... [[He pantomimes scratching on a turntable.]]
