Banal reality strikes!

[Who has the time to celebrate after the last mission? Not everyone, that's for sure! Lily Rain is sitting by one of the blaster White Chalice intercoms with a pile of spare parts and a book on repairing electronics. It doesn't go well.]

We did the right thing, right? Technically we failed the mission, but nobody was hurt and in the end everyone was happy (or almost everyone...) and the crowd cheered at everyone, so that has to count for something... But I still wonder, could it have gone different, better? Maybe if I waited instead of charging right in from the start...

[Daydreaming is not a good thing to do when you're working with live circuitry... Which Lily finds out on her own by getting a zap from the radio.]

Eeek...! I'm not good at this...

It's hard to say what the right decision was... I mean, it was Adventus, but it was pretty clear it was a trap. Opening the concert with an attack probably wasn't the right answer.

...I can try and help with that? You look like you need it.

They made you fix radios as punishment?

Now that I mention it, a whole bunch of onboard speakers were smashed for some reason...

I understand folks that see their own work get wrecked and get pissed off, but when someone tries to mind control people or worse, then hurt feelings are my least concern.

Maybe you should've just tried to turn 'em off or something instead, though. How hard could it be... ehh, too late now.

[Lowe casually starts fiddling with the radio's insides.]

Sure, that's what Junkers are all about! Make the world better by fixing things.

Simple, I touch only the isolated parts. You didn't know that and you want to repair the receiver? No wonder you're doing so bad... no offense intended.

Um, is there any way I can help?

[identity profile] white-deviling.livejournal.com 2011-12-08 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh? Well...no...not really. I've been delivering these to people around the ship that need them for the repairs.

But, if you could give me instructions, maybe...

[identity profile] white-deviling.livejournal.com 2011-12-08 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. It's just...you seemed troubled, so I thought that I could help ease that somehow.

This looks really complicated...

[And cue the third member of team overkill, back to armor. However, as Samus had held back the overkill herself, she progresses a lot faster, as she only needs another half minute of hacking to reverse the block she'd put on them]

Every speaker I deactivated is now operational again. Do you need assistance with the rest?

If you resolved the fight without anyone being hurt, and the people were happy, did you truly loose?

[[Who the hell is this guy?]]

I'm just an old mechanic...

There's always a time and place for physical, and mental force. It just happened that this time, it was the latter. Wars were not always won by the stronger party, but the smarter.

There's no harm in doing what comes naturally. As long as you know when to stop and listen. Your friend had a brilliant idea out there.

[Having trouble with manual labor? LOOK NO FURTHER THAN THE IRGELION!]

Lily, is something the matter?

[identity profile] curseu-reflexes.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well how hard can it be?

If you lent me the manual I'm sure I could speed up the process so you can get done quicker!

[identity profile] curseu-reflexes.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Complicated things aren't an issue. It's all just manual labor. So long as my body knows what to do it should be able to reliable do this.

[She takes the schematics, studying it and thumbing through the pages.]

... Hmm... I could probably do with some time to sort this all out... but you can definitely count on me to help with this, Lily!
