[Ever since the mission, Rinon's been in the hangar, with the remains of her poor Dibison. She's making notes, checking things over... and keeping the vultures away, who might try to snitch a few spare parts]



[2 - Cafeteria]

[Rinon's in the cafeteria now, intent on both her meal (hurray for non-meager rations!) and on a tablet. More on the tablet, actually, surprisingly enough, given how she usually goes after food. Still, the tablet's what's important, as is the growing grin on her face]

Man, this will be so cool!

Hmm... In that case, do you think they'd let Prometheus participate in the Zoid Fight? Sounds like decent money without too much work, and I already have experience fighting the best of them.

Backdraft battles, at least. I mean... the judge considered all of us a team. Well, the Warrior did. The judge didn't wanna pay up until I pressed it.

Are they always so stingy with prizes? It's like the money came directly from the judge's paycheck. And since he's a robot, I doubt he even gets one.

It's not like there were any Zoid pilots around who could tell the rest of us what's on stake when we participate in a Zoid Fight, or anything.

I'm pretty sure everyone would like to know they're going to have their robots taken away from them if they lose a Zoid Fight before they enter one, not after.

I believe you, my bad. In any case, that one part makes participation much less tempting for me. Prometheus is too valuable to lose him in a contest. Not to mention, he's my friend... in a way.

At least you get a choice. Some of us have our honor as a Zoid Warrior to consider.

Do you realize how much a Zoid costs? Between my share of the prize money and what I can recover from Dibison, I can just barely afford to replace it. Without Dibison, I wouldn't have anything!

Hey, I'm not trying to trivialize the risks of your job. Just saying that Prometheus is one of a kind (not counting his brother, but he's already taken), and possibly sentient. A very expensive replacement is still better than no available replacement at all.

Zoids are sentient too, to an extent. Liger Zero won't let anyone pilot it. And that Shield Liger became a Blade Liger mid-battle.

Dibison never seemed that sentient to me, but... I had it for a long time.

Dad saved for a long time to buy me Dibison... it's not a cheap Zoid. That was before we even had the Blitz Team. Since it was just Leon. Then I got Dibison, and Dad got Jamie to join us with his Pteras, since he'd known Jamie's Dad. And then we hired Brad to round out the team.

It seems like a long time ago, now, but it couldn't've been more than a couple years.
