Ahahaha, no no no, it's just modeled after one. I don't really get computers all that well yet but I can at least use one now ... kinda sorta. Took a while.

This is what we used to do 'word processing' before computers were around. It's called a type-writer!

[Besides messing with the keyboard he hasn't really done anything to the internal aspect; the typewriter is basically just ultimately punching the same buttons. It's a rather jury rigged set up. And because the type-writer's so big he had to detatch the monitor and get an extended cable for it.]

Hmmm... maybe I should mount the monitor and put it in a big boxy old TV monitor! With some rabbit ears!!

Well, not on this ship, I'm not. I just maintain Hilde. You know, I was originally a mechanic, but... things have gotten so advanced now, I'm not sure how handy I am any more.

But this is all cosmetic.
