Cyberpunk is a singular thing. It's a literary genre dealing primarily with the interaction between humans and advanced technology, especially computers and the internet. Notable works include Gibson's Sprawl series, The Index movies, and Stephenson's Snow Crash.

Ah, but cyberpunk can belong to many other genres! The Index movies, for instance, are a lot like more standard asian action films, but with the existence of a massive virtual reality used to justify the heroes being outlaws and their supernatural powers.

...But I'm getting off to the side. A "ghost" in that sense is someone's personality and memories, their being, which can exist independent of their body. I'm a cyberspace native, so any good enough computer can become my "body", but I don't really have a single set body yet.
