I don't know what these Shadow Knights are but sonic weaponry isn't so simple as to work on only one thing. It can be used to debilitate pilots by harming their ear canals. Damaging this can cause vertigo, lose of balance, lose of hearing, even nausea and vomiting. It is a great way to defeat an enemy pilot as it directly damages them and as such causes no collateral damage. The problem is focusing it though.
