Char was shot three times in the chest by Anavel Gato. He was rushed to a medical facility in Freetown, where a preliminary surgery was performed to clamp the severed artery, insert a respirator tube, and removed two bullets (the first was a through-and-through) from the chest cavity. Char's diagnosis was a collapsed lung, severed artery near the opposite lung, and a ruptured diaphragm. Char was lucky to be alive.

After the mission ended and after Char was considered to be in "serious" condition instead of "critical" and was deemed safe for transport, he was returned to the medical bay aboard the White Chalice. His current set-up is in the intensive care unit, where he's completely bed-ridden and hooked up to a respirator that is breathing for him, a heartbeat monitor, and an IV where he's being pumped with morphine. He has already received two blood transfusions. He is just conscious enough to communicate with others, but he's not coherent due to the pain medication, and drifts in and out of consciousness. There's a piece of paper where he clearly tried to write a report, but it ended up very sloppy and really didn't make much sense.
Feel free to barge in and start throwing accusations at him. Or wish him support. Or maybe even try to heal him if you're Yoshika.
