In love? I have clear affection for Mio at least. If it blossoms into true love, then perhaps I can answer that with a yes.

I, on the other hand... I don't know if what I feel towards that certain someone is true love or affection... And I don't know if she has someone important in her life already, or not. It's normal at Cosmic Ark to have more than one love, but are humans the same...?

And we're friends. If I tell her how I feel and she rebukes me, it will make everything really awkward...

Love's a tricky thing. Some of humanity's greatest authors have said that its a tricky and bewitching thing for anyone to be saddled with. And yet, you're worried that if your own culture clashes with ours then it will end in sadness.

I would say gently probe the idea, see what she thinks. Be her friend, but at the same time ask her ideas and likes and dislikes. Perhaps your friend is a lot more receptive to the idea of having more than one in your circle.

Hmm... can you tell me a little more about your friend then? It sounds to me like they're a very complex person.

You're allowed to be as fast or slow as you want to be, Lily. The issue there is asking yourself, do you really want this person as more than just a friend? If so, then there's a good chance they might feel the same.

She is a very sensitive person, full of compassion and the desire to help others. She has a strong will and a very rational approach to things, and is often the voice of reason. She's clever, has a great sense of humour, and loves cute things.

...But there's also sadness about her. Her past has been very hard on her, and I... I think she blames herself for a lot of it. But it's not her fault. I want to make a much happier future for her than her past past.

I think you should ask her then. Sit her down one day, and ask straight out if she'll be okay with being in love with you, Lily. It's hard to be rejected if it does happen, BUT, there is always a upside to things. I'm sure she won't reject you though, if you two are as close as you say you are.

It's kind of nice really, to be in love isn't it?
