"I do not feel comfortable...Surrounded by all the mecha. For years I fought giant robots, now I'm surrounded by them."

A logical explanation then. With this world's development and reliance on mecha, things like the plane have gone out of fashion.

But I take it that's not just the main reason?

[Self-inflicted Amnesia. He could relate. Or perhaps a poor memory. Either way, Tsukasa leaned over the box he was sitting behind.]

You know, when the wars were being fought, not the wars of today but way back when, during Napoleon's time, he fought too hard, too long. He pushed his troops into Russia and paid the price. And yet it was all for the relentless march of a unified world.

My question right now, for you, is what do you fight FOR if you've been fighting too long? And for what cause? What drives you to become an eternal soldier, standing in the fields of mother Russia.

[Her faced looks more than worried.]

You want to know what your peace will be like, is that it? [Tsukasa leaned forward a little.]

You want to know the person inside yourself, the one who you're forgetting every day. To reach inward and grasp that memory: it's a precious thing.

And you're afraid of losing yourself in a battle like this, right?

A person living under secrecy, in a world that hordes its secrets like a dragon in a cave. There is someone who was once shrouded in secrets too from my recollection.

[Spreading his Ride Cards across the table, he pushed the image of Ryuki towards her.] Kamen Rider Ryuki, drawn into a Rider War of Justice. He had a friend, Kamen Rider Knight. Although at the time, they weren't Riders.

Ryuki and Knight went their separate ways. Ryuki felt betrayed, that Knight would step away from their lives they shared so dearly. They were the Best Combination in history of reporting. And then one day, Ren Hagano stepped away from Shinji.

All because of a secret that Ren held, a secret that his friend and mentor WANTED him to go, and see the world, and come back when she felt he was ready.

But Shinji wasn't told any of this, and thus the secret was kept, until Hagano's death on 30 Bunch. Oh perhaps they reunited, but...

If a secret, a classification is so needed, what is stopping you from creating a life for yourself here? Even if you do not stop fighting, even if you are unable to do so, there's always a place to return to and someone who will hold your secrets for you.

"I have to, to save everyone!"

"I can't leave my life, or make a new one. If I did, then who would save them."

You're in the right place then. Even if you don't lay your life on the line, you have to ask: what are you laying your life on the line FOR? Memories? The world? Being a soldier is easy: being a hero is a thankless job.

[Tsukasa leaned over, interested.] What do you fight for? Truly?

"I use to fight to survive, then I fought for peace. But now, I don't have anyone to tell me to fight for. I don't know if there out there. I don't even know if there alive."

You know, Shinji asked the same thing during his day. What do I fight for? WHO do I fight for? WHERE do I fight? The battles took him all across his lifetime.

I think the answer that you need to find, is quite simple: What are you fighting for but WHY are you fighting? WHO am I fighting for. WHERE am I fighting for?

Asking why someone fights, why you fight, is both a journey and an answer that only you can take into consideration.

"Now I only have to deal with more corporeal problems, like trigger happy allied SAMs, the guy from the Usean Starvengers dub intimidates the thrust out of me, there are girls years younger than me who fly circles around me, I've been in enemy weaponry, and the best tea I had in years came from someone who's kettle is in there lab."
