Eighth Order

[Chrono's return from the outskirts of the Adventus base is, much like the last time he returned from an Adventus mission, marked by exhaustion and mana depletion, though it's from the Asura's dedicated teleport bay, and it's with the Fury (and Arika and Kamille) in tow taking up most of it; after taking Tatsu to the Chalice's infirmary for inspection and revival, he headed back up to the Asura to have the Fury sent back down to the hangar. All the while, though, he seems a bit distant. Call him on it?]
[2]
[Chrono's been ordered to rest for a while, to recover his magic and allow for repairs to Durandal. Of course, being Chrono, he won't ever admit he needs to take a break, and so he's sitting in his command chair on the Asura, watching footage from the assault.]
Such power... such strong feelings. I know we're at war with them, and I'm supposed to be intervening on the Bureau's behalf, but it seems like a waste to end all these opponents like this. Keeping the peace is one thing, but this is a long assignment, and getting longer by the day, and we haven't made progress with the Book in weeks... what are we doing?
[If anyone on the bridge has an answer, they're not sharing; Chrono sighs, returning to the footage as he gives his last retort to Yolanda about killing, and shakes his head.] Sometimes I hate missions on Unadministrated Worlds.
