[Sergeant Lynette Bishop expected to be punished for leaving the Chalice, really. The moment she was accused of separating from her group, she made no effort to defend her decision or to excuse her actions. She did what was necessary to help friends of hers.
Besides, part of it must have been Sakamoto being understandably angry for leaving the Chalice without her explicit orders. Even demons can feel concern.
In the end, she was set with fifteen days of extra duties with confinement to her quarters. For Lynette, it would have been a light punishment. For witches, all punishments are that way because of their low enlistment pool.
