Game 2: The Cure for Boredom is...!?

[Anyone in the halls of the Chalice will find Jukai running laps, or rather running around the ship in a circle. She's not paying a whole lot of attention to where she's going, so sudden people in her way or doors opening out will likely be a problem. That said, even with little obstacles in the way that she barely avoids, she's making good time. Ask her what she's up to? Or perhaps create an obstacle?]

[A section of the mess hall has been claimed by Jukai, who's here with a few decks of cards and a number of dice. Is she bored...? As you walk in, she spots you and waves you over, looking just a little uncomfortable.]

Hey! Um... up for a game or something? It kinda feels like there's not a whole lot to do, and I'm not in the mood for training right now. And I'm not really a big bug person... Maybe we can put something on the line to make it interesting? I'm not averse to doing other people's chores. Or, y'know, something else could work, too.

[As you watch, she rolls a handful of dice, and the six dice come up in a straight, 1-2-3-4-5-6. Seems this won't be as easy as it looks.]

No, why? [She glances at the table.] Oh. No, I'm just a little lucky, sometimes. And I'm mostly nervous because... well, it feels like everyone else is. I know we've had a lot of hard fights lately, but... I got used to punching anything that worried me until it stopped worrying me. I can't really do that right now.

... Right. That's a feeling I can sorta relate to.

It would probably do you some good to maybe find some other outlet. I mean, there's gotta be something you can do on the ship to work out stress.

... Not that we aren't going to play though.

[She looks down at her and grins.]

I'll see what I can do. Maybe I can spar with my summons or something, or... I dunno. I'm a physical kind of person. I'm just lucky and persistent.

[She smiles.] Good to hear. Are you a dice kind of person, or do you prefer cards? I may not have Yui's skill, but luck is a powerful factor all its own.

[Yeah, Kei's always prided herself on quite a few things. And while on the Chalice, gambling was one of them. And after her past defeat and humiliation because of Shirley... well, she was in the mood to bounce back, even if this was going to be a challenge.]

[Jukai shrugs.] Well, okay then. Let's see... oh, I know! I found this old game from pre-Impact... [She launches into a five minute explanation of what sounds suspiciously like Yahtzee, setting five dice aside and a pad of paper.]

And before I forget, are we playing for something?

Of course we are! We're playing with laundry duty at stake! For each oth- no, our entire rooms!

[Ha! How about that? Nothing like ridiculous stakes to get Jukai a bit flustered!]
