[Everyone. There's a familiar figure on board the Chalice once more, parking his motorbike onto his old space and walking towards you. He sidesteps a short distance as he passes by the mess that was the West-Tesla labs that was most likely still being fixed after the fiasco that happened last time. With a small grin he removes the biker goggles he was wearing, and as he gets closer? Well you'll notice a few differences about him - that being he has a mechanical arm now.]

Well. I'd certainly have to say you've all been living a little messier since I left.

[Sam was out of his suit, bandaged and practicing pretty hard now. For everyone who was or wasn't there, you'd know that he went out to fight the Anti-Spiral on foot - which by all accounts was something certifiably insane to do.]

Hmmm...

[The samurai flicks the blade lightly and watches as the light shines off its lustrous, sinister red sheen. He looks very satisfied... then grimaces a little as he inspects a thoroughly carved up dummy.]

This is going to take a lot longer than I want it to.

[Sam raised an eyebrow at the hug, but grinned regardless. As annoying as that smug, shit eating grin is... there's some genuine warmth at seeing a friend again.]

Matthew marches up towards you, training sword slung over his shoulder and a sneer of sheer killing intent on his face.

Well this would certainly help... quite a bit actually. Assuming you aren't afraid of possibly facing injury or death.

[Sam smirks wryly as he stretches out his mechanical arm.]

"Do you think I could have ever progressed this far if I let fear of injury or death faze me?" Matthew asks rhetorically as he raises his sword into a guard stance. "You cannot win without accepting the possibility of defeat!"

"Besides," He adds slyly, "modern cybernetics have taken quite the sting out of injury and amputation, quiaff?"

Aha... not really. Having one's arm gored off wasn't the most pleasant feeling, and its hard to improve one's skills with the sword with an arm that remains the same.

[He merely stands at ease, motioning to Matthew to bring it on.]

Matthew shuts his mouth, then nods silently.

He moves forward and opens with a textbook downward slash...and deliberately leaves a slight opening near his ribs!

[To which Sam parries quickly and replies with a boot to the chest!]

Matthew had the same idea, lashing out with a heel kick to your ribs as you extend yourself with your kick.

[Sam's going to back off and brush off the strike Matthew landed with a mild grin.]

Oh come now, I barely even felt that. Try a little harder.

Matthew grunts, suck in the breath that Sam knocked out, before wading into the fray with tip-toe foot work, striking with heavy slashes while trying to move around Sam in a circle.

He notes the mechanical arm, and binds against Sam's blade for a moment, trying to judge said arm's strength!

Oh you know, losing sight of my path, nearly dying, meeting someone who proved that the ideals I followed weren't as useless as I thought, getting back on my feet.

Beating an interdimensional alien menace sounds like the definition of doing some good for me, at least. Expect to meet some really giant enemies though.
