Hey guys, remember the recall point we found stored in this thing's computer? We're getting really close to it. I bet it's some kinda beastman base and that we could steal all kinds of cool stuff from them if we raided them!

[Action, deck of the Chalice]

Early in the morning before the Chalice reached the recall point, before the sun had even risen, Kamina stood, staring into the distance while eating his breakfast. Microwaved leftover meat of some kind. Somewhere over that ridge of hills was some kind of Beastman base, and Kamina was going there soon to raise some hell.

Just as he was finishing eating, one of the mountains in the distance exploded! A volcano, belching smoke and magma into the predawn sky! Kamina took a step back in surprise at first, but then he grinned.

"A whole mountain exploding with fire? I like it! The perfect scene for this fight!"

[After the crushing of the Bandits in Fuso alongside Resnick, Mad Caine, Casshern, Sendou, and a proud Fighter of the Jersey Club, Matthew's Nova has been...trashed.

The armor plating has been battered and dinged, everything dented from some rather harsh impacts with the ground, and the the legs were done gored by a Robotic Bull.

It's just barely repairable. But it is.

Matthew thus has none of the despair of a Mechwarrior suddenly Dispossessed. As he sits by his mangled mech, he activates a holo on his tablet, manipulating icons with a light pen, sipping some tea, and pouring over a design of his Nova that is...intriguingly enhanced.

With the Logo of the Gurren Brigade stenciled across it's nose.

Eavesdropping and advice?]

[2]

[Long term repair work and epic upgrading aside, Matthew's going to need a backup mech to sortie in for the immediate future.

Pouring over the various unused mechs in the hanger, Matthew is...flummoxed.

Help him out?]

[3]

[Test Drive Time!

Over a stretch of land and on the decks of the White Chalice, Matthew tries out some Mecha to see which fit his piloting style the best!

Keep him from crashing?]

[4]

[Matthew's time on the White Chalice has taught him that it is possible to achieve the Impossible, with the right tools and determination!

But what does this mean for him? How should this revaluation shape and influence his life's path?

Matthew, yearning for advice, goes to seek out Warleader Kamina and/or Simon the Digger, the two being the closest expert on impossibilities that he knows of!

He may run into others?]

[Filtered to Simon, from the cockpit of Gurren.]

Oi, Simon! We gotta work some shit out. We've got that fancy new Gurren Lagann to kick ass with, but unless we know how to recreate it when we need it and in the right way, it's no good to us. We need to practice!

[Action, On the ground near the White Chalice.]

An unusual sight meets any curious onlookers. It looks like Kamina, in Gurren, is hurling giant rocks at Simon, who is running around and dodging like the fear of god is in him! Could it be some sort of training exercise, or has Kamina finally just totally gone off the deep end?
digs_holes: (Yeah.)

[Simon's in the hangar, looking up at a new, shiny, fire-truck-red mecha. Yes, it's Gurren Lagann, the symbol of his and his bro's teamwork. He's definitely pleased about its performance... but he's still a little hung up on having nearly gotten Kamina killed immediately prior. The kid just shakes his head, a self-sure smile on his face.]

I won't run away any more... Kamina needs me. We'll fight together, whatever happens.
demonofjeeha: (What the hell Simon?)
[personal profile] demonofjeeha
[Looks like Kamina got into trouble again. This time, though, it may not have been his fault. He was out on a routine run to hunt for fresh meat, store up on water, and do any other foraging needed to keep the Chalice fed. Along for the ride was Kei Kurama and Simon.

When they got back, they had surprisingly little in the way of fresh supplies, Gurren looks battered to hell and back, and Kamina is looking...grumpy.]

Guess you guys should probably hear about this. Remember those beastman guys from a while back? Yeah they're back and causing trouble again.

[Private to Simon]

Simon. Why'd you run back there?

Oops

Part of being on the White Chalice involves visiting an endless series of tiny, run down towns. It is at a stop such as this that Kamina went missing.

Just as everyone was starting to worry (Or breath a sigh of relief, based on their personal disposition), they got a phone call.

"Hey, uh...so apparently I only get one call? I got in a fight, and now they won't let me go unless someone 'posts bail', whatever that means. Can I get a hand down here?"

"My Gaza is a bit trashed.

I really thought I was dead for sure! How did I even survive that?! It's unimaginable enough when reading from the mission reports, about what the Chalice has been through, but to experience it yourself...

Am I still here? Someone slap me."

For several weeks, after the Chalice's latest battle with Jade Falcon, the presence of gusto-filled Clan Wolf warriors have been supplemented by gusto-filled Jade Falcon Bondsman, walking around and performing various odd jobs and services with an intensity that's strangely impressive. You can mark them out by their old green uniforms and the bondcords worn on their wrists, marked out with Clan Wolf in Exile Colors.

One of these bondsmen, whom you've noticed in the background from time to time, instead of the standard woven cord, has a ragged strip of red cloth tied tightly around his wrist. When spoken to, he's been....Curt. Yes, Curt is the way to describe it.

That one particular aforementioned Bondsmen has just made an appearance on the comms, clearly fiddling with the setting as he does so.

"This...this is the ship's communication system, Aff?"

[2]

The Doom of All Fate! Ceiling Breaking Warlord, Formidable Demon Leader Kamina!

That one bondsman dude of yours is stalking you again. Wait...there! There he is now behind you, leaning against a wall, glaring at you with a grumpy-face! Didn't you already straighten him out?

[3]

The bondsman with the bright red wristband is squatting on a crate in his downtime, staring at Clan's Wolf 'Isorla' pile. Specifically, he's staring at this little beauty:

It's a bit beaten up, but intact.

Shall someone poke him?

[An open communication channel has contacted the Chalice! The video, while slightly grainy, shows an older man looking through the screen. When he speaks, his voice low and calming, somewhat like what you might expect an ideal politician to sound like.]

Greetings. I am Lord Ayman. I have contacted you this day as it has come to my knowledge that your operation is harboring a particular individual of interest to me and my people. I would like to propose a peaceful resolution to our conflict.

[The video changes to a still-image that looks like it was taken from a security feed. It shows Wendell, looking over his shoulder, heading into a warehouse. Ayman's voice continues over this image for a minute before switching back to a live feed.]

This man, whom you know by the name Wendell, has stolen vital equipment from me. The machine he has been rampaging about is stolen property, and I need it back promptly. This individual is also a wanted person for a multitude of other severe crimes. I understand that you will be reluctant to hand over someone so seemingly harmless, but I warn you that Wendell is a devious liar and notorious thief.

To further entice you, there is a reward offered for his return. I look forward to doing business with you.

After the mission, Ranna is in the hangars, overseeing mechs with battle-damage being transfer from the Wolf dropship back to the White Chalice. There are some new additions - mechs painted in the Jade Falcon colors as well.

In fact, another young woman with sharp and refined features is standing besides Ranna, wearing a Falcon uniform, and a visible chord wrapped around her wrist. She does not appear to be restrained at all. Whatever a bondsman is to the Clans, it is not the typical definition of 'prisoner'.

See how they are doing?

[2]

Later, Ranna is by the Chalice comm console, a map of the planet on display. There are symbols all over the map, most of them have some form of Wolf or Falcon iconography attached.

She listens in to the reports, her expression calm.

[After that mission, Gurren is a freaking WRECK, with blast marks, a half-melted shoulder, and a huge slash right down the front. Kamina is unhurt, at least, beyond the normal bruises from getting bounced around the cockpit in a fight, and what kind of professional manly man would let those slow him down. He is curious about something though.]

Hey guys, there's some kinda warning light flashing here, it says...

[He peers closely at it, like a man who is barely literate and that only a recent development.]

Uh... d...damagee, damage! Damage levels....critical. Retoooorn...Return, Return to...re...

"Damage Levels Critical, Return to Recall Point!"

Then there's a bunch of numbers. What d'you think that means?

The Chalice came over yet another isolated, shitty village on it's meandering across the world. Normally nothing more than a chance to buy more supplies. This one, Litner, is almost entirely underground, the only visible bits being a few watch towers and a large metal doorway into the deeper parts of the town. There's not much surplus food for sale, but they make up for it with an excess of extra weapons and ammunition they can sell. There are two things that make this village stick out from the others, though, and they're contacting the White Chalice now.

[Video. Oh look it's that doofus again. He starts by shouting at someone off screen.]

Hey guys, it's the one's that I told you about! I told you they'd turn up sooner or later!

[He focuses back on the screen.]

I knew we'd cross paths again. Our fates are tied together as the ones who are gonna change the world forever, after all! 'Bout time too, I've been stuck in this boring little town for way too long. I'm coming back to hang out with you all again, so make room!

[He spins the camera around to focus on another possibly familiar face.]

And so is Simon, right bro?

"What?"

It's the Chalice guys! They're back, we can finally get out of this stupid pit!

[OOC: They're both around, so mention which one you want to talk to in your response.]

He doesn't mind the ship, actually, it's just residual unimpressedness from half the people who seem to be on it.]
